Certain facts from around the world

Though I don't know how many of you already know the facts that I am about to share with you, but still I would like to bring these facts to light.
Abydos, Egypt houses a great many Egyptian antiquities as well as their culture and temples. One of particular interest is the Temple of Seti. On the numerous engravings etched onto the walls, we find these etchings
As can be clearly seen here, the walls depict 4 very modern machines and very accurate pictures of them, I dare say.
Not far from Abydos, in the Dendera region you'd find the temple of Hathor, an Egyptian goddess. There under the temple ruins you'd find this very interesting piece of handiwork, a sketch of a light bulb.

This lightbulb has been argued by a great many skeptics to be actually a lotus and the glass dome to be the aura of incense. But I am a skeptic that the skeptics have a sane mind. So I would vehemently oppose their obviously preposterous notion of a lotus and its visible incense.

As shown here more clearly, the light bulb has a wire powering the device at the base(A), and a filament(B). Also shown are the wire connecting the filament(C) and the glass cover of the bulb(D). The empty space inbetween(E) may be vacuum or may be filled with some gas (like Nitrogen perhaps ...). I would plead you to compare it with the modern incandescent light bulb given by its side
Lets move out to Russia. A lovely place during Winter. However my interest in Russia is not because of its weather, but rather because of a particular bison skull. It is very old around 10,000 yrs old, give or take a few hundred. But you'd say, what's so special about it. Well here's what making news. The skull has a bullet hole, or at least a hole made by some very high speed projectile with a perfect shape.

Creepy you say, but history has it that the tribal used to worship it as the their forefathers had seen the bison being liberated from its earthly shell by the gods themselves.
Now lets get back from the chills of Russia to the warmer Mediterranean region. In October 1900, off the coast of Crete, a ship wreck was found which dated back to 1-2 BC. The name of the shipwreck was given the Antikythera ship wreck. Of all the artifacts recovered from there, the most important was the Antikythera mechanism. It contained level of workmanship and technology, that wasn't to be seen till the late 1400s. The antikythera mechanism in true sense was ahead of its time.
(This is all that is left of the antikythera mechanism)

The mechanism is said to be able to accurately predict the position of all the stars in the sky. Though it seems easy, such a stellar mapping wasn't possible till Hubble or so, who had access to supercomputers and limitless resources. A stellar map requires a high level of calculations and computations which would not have been possible without a computer. The antikythera mechanism did exactly that. It was an ancient computer. And one that was safe from the ill effects of mother Earths geomagnetic telemetry. Modern day computers (and even more the supercomputers) are very susceptible to magnetisms. And since the Earth itself produces such a large field, these supercomputers could easily get screwed up. Because of which care has to be taken, so as to prevent their effects from being felt in the minute calculations. The antikythera mechanism found a way to get round that problem, by eliminating all the parts that could be affected by the geomagnetic effect. As a result, we have an analog computer, made up of cogs, screws and gears, and providing an accuracy of any modern age supercomputer.
Now we zoom into the dense jungles of Mexico. There we come across the most famous Maya king, King Pakal. His people state him to be a God, and that he had the power to travel and meet the other Gods. He had his own flying vehicle and that on the day of his demise he sat on his vehicle and left for the starry heavens. More interesting is the cover of the lid of his sarcophagus.

Pakal can be clearly seen driving what seems to be a spaceship and the exhaust of his engine and the gears and handles are also clearly visible
No discussion will be complete without the Nazca lines. They are a set of geographic lines that are drawn over the flattened mountain top. And none of the symbols can be made out from the land itself. Only from high above in the air are they recognizable.
(This is just one of the many Nazca figures. This is a spider)

Now to complete my list for now, I'd like to add the name of Piri Reis. He was a Turkish captain during the late 1400s. He had in his possession a map - a map showing places not even discovered at that time. Most notable was Antarctica. Though Antarctica hasn't been ice free for some several thousands of years, the map aptly shows the true landmass of Antarctica, which has been confirmed by current geographical surveys and studies.

I hope you liked it. If you too have any fact that I may have missed out, please feel free to remind me about the same

  1. Interesting blog. But I am really having a problem reading the text! Why do you always go for such outrageous color schemes? And mentioning your salary in the profile looks a bit umm.. unprofessional.

I will post another and more detailed comment after I turn the css off and read the text.
